Gomen - Stanton, CA

Near the corner of Katella & Knott is Gomen, a ramen shop a bunch of us go to quite frequently.
It's nestled in a strip mall that most folks would not glance at. There's even some kind of weird Thai Sushi place next door with all you can eat chicken bowls for lunch that nobody goes into. I'm not sure why people walk into and eat at a place nobody's at, when there's a god damn ramen shop thats always packed one door away.

On this day we didn't have to wait but it was busy in there as usual.
My ramen bros for the day was 9half Mark and Chopper Wizard. Once upon time, long time ago in the land of the Burgershire, Chopper Wizard was terrified of all things non-burger and was content with the cozy comforts of standard American fast food and the like. Of other things he was "totally terrified" and his Asian culinary delights had gone to the far reaches of visiting Panda Express. But worry not, this old tale brightens. This was all BEFORE he became Chopper Wizard.

Since then he had battled a Balrog and now he's Chopper Wizard. One time in fact I seen him stop CantStayJose and The Hater from entering his shop by stomping this magic staff (that was cast aluminum) into the doorway, screaming "YOU - SHALL - NOT - PASS!"

Ok ok, I'm talking crazy. But I'm proud of my Chopper Wizard because now he's a Ramen Mother Fucking Master and he knows his shit, knows what to put in it, knows what tastes good, etc.
Chopper Wizard had the Tonkotsu Ramen. Comes with charsiu, egg, bean sprouts, bamboo shoots and onions. He got his with extra egg. In the pre-Wizard days he didn't eat the egg and I scolded him so now he gets extra. Tonkotsu is a pork bone based broth. This one is probably mixed with other stuff, I don't know. It's good though, trust us!
9half, who had also battled the Balrog with the Wizard, is missing part of his thumb as a result. He fucked that thing up though, and I think he finished the Balrog with a rear naked choke. Aaaanyway, 9half had the Charsiu Ramen, which is also my old faithful. Shoyu (soy sauce) base and extra charsiu! Come with the usual. Egg, onions, bamboo shoots and bean sprouts. He had an extra egg too.
I also had the Tonkotsu Ramen, just like the Wizardo. This has been my new favorite (off and on):
All of us had the ramen combo set which includes either a half fried rice or a half order of gyoza. We all went for the fried rice:
Food coma is about to hit in 15 to 20 minutes. But this isn't unusual. You can find us here on Tuesdays or Fridays.
Local Japanese business men and other locals. This place stays pretty busy:
Also named "My Favorite Ramen Right Now" by CantStayJose.
