Drove by this place on the way to watch a few of our guys compete in a jiu jitsu tournament.
With smoke billowing out of the place and a half dozen cars eating BBQ in the parking lot, I had to check it out.
I thought the sliced beef was good but it didn't quite rock me. Soft, lean meat sliced thin. BBQ sauce itself was decent, but not extraordinary either. All served on regular sliced bread. Would I eat here again? yeah, if I was in the neighborhood... but I'm more likely to check out Jim Dandy Fried Chicken down the street.

THIS ONE TIME...
He went onto tell me how they predate the East Bay Dragons as the first all-black MC. East Bay Dragons at the time they met, as I was told, were mostly a car club with very little or no motorcycles at all.
These two MC's are now brother clubs, as you might be able to make out on his patch. The bit of history I learned was real neat.
Got to meet one of the original founding members as well. Just thought I'd share.

OCEAN SEAFOOD RESTAURANT - LOS ANGELES, CA
Kung Hei Fat Choy! Like most people we work on Mondays, so yesterday we went to Chinatown to have dim sum at Ocean Seafood Restaurant to celebrate Chinese New Year a day early. We go to this place about once a year, its almost a tradition now.
This place is always crowded, especially after 12noon. When we showed up, the line was pretty mild compared to the usual chaos in this parking lot.
It's not the absolute BEST dim sum we've ever had but its good, no doubt. I didn't get a photo of everything we ordered but here's a few. We started with the shrimp and walnuts before we even sat down:
Fried chicken cart showed up just seconds later:
These flat noodles had shrimp wrapped in them:
Shrimp dumplings:
Beef dumplings:
One of my favorites, sticky rice.
This one came with pork and mushrooms. Add shoyu for perfection:
Baby bok choy:
And those soup dumplings that people trip out on ever since Anthony Bourdain had them on his show. These were good but I've had better. I still would've ate all 5 of these myself without thinking twice though:
I got more eating to do on dim sum. I've eaten at several spots around L.A's Chinatown but I have a feeling I've haven't hit its best spots quite yet.

ANG & CHANG
Submitted by June:
This is Ang-and-Chang, a conjoined turtle belonging to JD, the super rad owner of the Museum of Death on Hollywood Blvd.
The Museum of Death is a pretty trippy place to say the least.....
....But if you're cool with JD he might go in the back and bring out the turtle(s).

59 on the 710
I had just gotten over a cold. Must've caught it on the plane or something because within 24 hours of being back in the L.A area, I was sick as fuck. Sleeping like 14 hours, get up for an hour and go back to sleep, you know, the usual bad cold type of shit.
Finally came back to life a week later. It was a Saturday or maybe a Sunday and it was my first day back to reality. Things weren't as fuzzy but I still wasn't up to driving. Riding was totally out of the question. But I wanted to get out of the house bad. Sasha drove us to Little Tokyo in L.A to check some shit out and then head over to Cole's to get a nice French Dip sandwich, which we'll see here a little later.
So I was sitting shotgun and she spotted this gem in front of us. She rolled up real quick and I told the guy hey - what up. The dude saw I had a camera so he smiled and waved.
The Impala guy held out as long as he could so I could get some shots.
He had to another freeway to catch.
The thing was fucking amazing rolling down the 710 freeway.
The immaculate chariot, blue Dodgers cap, all of it - fucking choice.
It's like a sign that we were about to have a good day.
I rarely make my way out to the actual city of Los Angeles. Always interesting and fun there.
It was nice to be back in my home away from home.
