And I just remember that on one of my previous email I've mentioned a bit about an FXR fitted with HEMI heads... |

SUMMER OF 1999

Another day at work at my dad's gas station in Mililani, Hawaii, around the summer of 1999.
Got my brand new Sons of Anarchy black exhaust pipe and 883 Iron side mount license plate.

FXR FEVER: GROUND STRAP
All FXR enthusiasts should check the ground strap under their bikes to make sure it doesn't look like this!
Noooo, this isn't mine.

FXR AND PHO FEVER
Sinners Sweden in the mutha fucking hooooouse. Brawny Built FXR project bike rolling around the American Southwest, stopped in Westminster CA for some pho.
Rille and Sven says "this is very good noodles and soup!"
111" S&S engine backed up with every possible performance part you can think of in a OEM FXR frame. Add your own plum sauce and sri racha.

FXR FEVER: WHATS CRACKALACKIN
The 96" S&S stroker engine in my FXR broadcasts strange frequencies from another dimension, exposing weaknesses that I never even knew existed. Kinda like going to Peru and drinking that crazy medicinal concoction those jungle shamans put together and you go tripping all over through the spirit world and see all your weaknesses, which my engine has exposed here.
Still wouldn't trade my 96" for anything. Torque from this engine is spectacular in a commuter FXR.

FXR FEVER: FAIRING PREVIEW
Rusty and T-Rod over at ILLUSION CYCLE let me have a look at their prototype fairing they have coming out real soon.
Includes those very expensive but nice H-D quick-release clamps with the kit. Its expected to be for sale in complete kit form within the coming few weeks.
I'll hopefully have "Real Gangster Stories from Rusty" video clips up here sooner or later, I gotta hit him up.

FXRT FEVER
"Smooth ride. Old man bike," said Aki.
"I ride this thing pretty far and its really comfortable. This one is my rider."
The FXR in its full-on sport touring glory.
You know that people used to sell these fairings for $20 at the LB swap not too long ago? Not anymore.
Fucking choice.

FXR FEVER: FULL GAIN FAIRING
Shin aka Crayon Shin-Chan our operative in Tokyo has dropped me a note on this very interesting fairing from FULL GAIN.
It's a narrowed version of the Ness fairing (below) from the days of the stretched and raked out FXR that was popular in the late 80's and most of the 90's. One of their original Ness fairings was beat up pretty bad so Full Gain took it upon themselves to fix it up a tad and narrow it as well.
It'll cost a grip to get this fairing kit out here stateside but its pretty neat, I gotta admit.

$16.44
Full tank on my FXR cost me $16.44 for the good stuff this afternoon.
I think it was at $4.25 a gallon today at Chevron.

Regardless of price, I always run high octane in my motorcycles. Unless you're not planning on keeping and maintaining your bike, I guess it doesn't matter... but for me, it does. It's no coincidence that my heads and pistons have very little carbon build up every time I've done a top end. Warming it up goes a long way too.

FXR FEVER: SOME MECHANICAL HUMOR
Submitted by Brawny:
"I was going through this FXR for a friend and heard some noises coming from the inner primary after I started the bike. Found a misplaced spring, which is on the wrong side of the jackshaft, along with a Battery Tender mount that had both terminals bolted to the positive terminal. Signs of some funny business going on with this one!"

FXR FEVER: STROKED '84 FXRS
OH FUCK! I like this. ALL business.
What do I like about it? You can't see? Of course you can't. Because Ben didn't spend money on shit so he could look like Jax. Instead, this homey spend his money on a 89" stroker kit from S&S. And he isn't new to strokers either, having ridden a 98" stroked shovel rigid that lays 50 foot rolling burnouts.
So how is it with the stroker kit?
"Runs great! after I broke it in with 3 heat cycles and oil changes out the ass. Didn't beat it too bad til I was over 500 miles. I was riding down the highway with my buddy and at about 100mph, I twisted it and slid back in my seat and left him way behind. After we got off the highway, he said I left him like he was sitting still. Think i need to change the gearing to pull better wheelies though."
"So I have the 89" kit with a 561 cam, Wiseco 10:1 pistons, ported and polished heads, Black Diamond valves and Sifton valve springs."
"Super E carb, Dyna-S Ignition and a Thunderheader that a buddy gave me for $50."
Check out Ben and his boys here.
I'm not alone with broken coils!
