MALASADAS FEVER

Malasadas is a doughnut like pastry covered in granulated sugar. It's got a slight crisp to it on the outside and fluffy and soft in the inside. Best eaten fresh out of the fryer (it's the only way to eat them - at it's very best!).

It's a treat that I like all my friends from the mainland to enjoy at least once when visiting Hawaii. We all went to a different truck two nights ago in Kaneohe. Our favorite Hot French Woman, Melanie, just flew in and missed out so we had to take her to sample some goodness. On the way back from watching the sunset at Makaha Beach, Brawny knew of a Leonard's truck parked in Waikele so we stopped in.

Here are the first words uttered from Melanie immediately after her first couple of bites (insert French accent):

"WHAT THE FUCK?"

"This is so good, I'm going to be sick."
