TAMALES & CHAMPURRADO

There are many Tamales Mans that drive around Southern California. Always in something with a hatchback. Be it a compact car or a minivan of which they sell their products out of the back, which is usually $1 each. Pork, Chicken or Cheese & Jalapeno are the choices of tamales. Most of the time the tamales are sold with champurrado, which is a warm and thick hot chocolate type of drink. Also just $1.

So why does the Tamales Man always have champurrado?

I talked to some professionals to see what they had to say.

CantStayJose: I don’t know. I don’t like champurrado. I only like tamales. It’s a breakfast a thing. It just goes with tamales. It’s a meal.
