MITSUYOSHI - STANTON, CA

I've eaten here a grip of times over the last few years. Never really occurred to me about posting anything about it, but this time I took a couple photos. It's a really standard Japanese restaurant but not in the standards of California, no no. More so like a normal spot you'd find anywhere in Japan.

Had the Saba Shioyaki and Tempura combo.
Saba Shioyaki is grilled, salted mackerel with grated daikon and a cute pickled little something. The saba was done perfect. Small but very meaty piece and de-boned pretty well too.
Includes a choice of white or brown rice and miso soup.
Tempura is good here. In fact, I thought it was much better here than the tempura house Komatsu in Torrance that actually closed down. Actually, I thought Komatsu was overpriced and their tempura sucked.
Potato Salad, Nippon style.

Great place for lunch, especially if your Japanese boss is always buying! ha ha. Check it out if you're in the area but make sure they're open, because they close at 2pm after lunch is over in typical Japanese restaurant fashion.

Oh, and by the way, never EVER, for the rest of your life, order any sort of teriyaki combo plates from any real Japanese restaurants for the rest of your natural life. Unless you want to eat what the suckers eat.
