ONE OF THE GREATEST DANZIG SONGS EVER

Circa 1987. I remember being in high school and reading SPIN magazine, coming across a review of the Less Than Zero soundtrack, which was released through Def Jam Recordings. Anything through Def Jam was pretty epic at the time, kinda bridging the gap between Slayer and Public Enemy fans which were both on the label.

So, I picked up the soundtrack on cassette and was blown away by the fact that Slayer covered In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida and was listed along side LL Cool J, Public Enemy and... Glenn Danzig & The Power and Fury Orchestra?

Who? What? I thought I had known everything Misfits/Samhain/Danzig up to that point in my life. The song played and I was blown away. Couldn't believe Danzig belted out such a great song. Must've listened to it a thousand times since then.

Danzig also wrote the Life Fades Away along with Roy Orbison on this soundtrack as well, which at the time, made it ok to say you like Roy Orbison just because of that.

Aaah, great time for these songs on rainy day in Long Beach.
